The Dancing Flower Girl
Kara Alexander took Leaps and Turns and Contemporary 1 from Vashti at the Dance Gallery all of last year and Ballet I this summer. Vashti chose Kara to be her flower girl to add to the existing ballet and music theme in her wedding, and she chose Kara because of her similarity in appearance to Vashti's childhood pictures of when she first started ballet. Kara performed a two minute ballet solo during the wedding prelude choreographed by Vashti. The music was Mozart's "Ave Verum Corpus" played by the KU string ensemble. Vashti would like to thank Kara for being her flower girl and say a special "thank you" to Krisa Farrington for being the rehearsal director during the wedding.
