With Thanksgiving being this week, I wanted to mention something I am thankful for that has taken place this fall. I was able to do quite a bit of community outreach that has allowed me to work with and meet some very wonderful children and adults.
Firstly, I got to do was invest in the students at Sunflower Elementary school. It was a brief interactive lecture teaching students different ballet steps and talking about the importance of doing your best in school.
Secondly, my adult jazz class got the opportunity to perform their recital piece the, "Dapper Flappers," at the Neavant House on Veteran's day. It was a very special privilege to share dance with the senior citizens at the house and celebrate our American heritage.
Finally, I was asked to be a part of a fashion show through I and I Agency to help fundraise for the Johnson County Young Matrons organization. It was a wonderful night showcasing clothes from different vendors and being able to meet a very talented group of models.
It's always great to give back to your community and I am so thankful for these opportunities.
