Savvy Automation

Automate your business strategically.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution to automating your business. So it's best not to pick an automated software or app just because "everybody else is using it."

Your business will need customized strategy for automation that is intentionally integrated into your overall business design and budget.

Why do you need an automation strategy?

The caveat to automation is that you don't want to be stressed because your business has to switch automation tools 25 times a day.

Nobody wants 25 separate automation tools, but unfortunately, there will never be a PERFECT tool.

So it's essential to find balance and flexibility in automating your business. You may need an extra app or service simply because it performs one critical task for your business better than any other tool.

Also, not all tasks should be automated, but if you can at least semi-automate tasks that need manual guidance this will be a great productivity booster for your business!

Here are my top tips for automating your business:

  • Tangible vs. Digital | Notice when you are reaching for something tangible versus something digital. This kind of awareness provides helpful feedback to decide whether or not you want to semi-automate, automate, or complete a task manually.

  • All-Inclusive Approach | Look for an automation tool or service that offers the most overall functionality for your business instead of a “per task” basis.

  • AI-Included Approach | Before you buy extra AI subscriptions like ChatGPT, check to see what AI capabilities your current digital platforms have built into them. Most digital platforms have launched AI features right within their services for little to no additional cost.

  • $20 A Month Rule | I always recommend keeping automated services under $20 a month per service. However, there are exceptions when you discover an automation tool that is so amazing you can't pass it up. Remember, if paying for a digital service speeds up the quality of your workflow, it's worth every penny!

  • Beware of Versions | Free trials are not the same as free versions. Free trials are fantastic, but FREE VERSIONS are usually not. Free versions may be helpful for a short time, but they can hinder your business's momentum in the long run, depending on the service that you are using. Instead, purchase or upgrade to the paid plan for one to three months, allowing you adequate time to test premium features. This way you will be able to know for sure if all the automation features truly benefit your business.
